SENIOR PHOTO OPTIONS: 3 Options for taking & submitting the photo
Option 1: Professional Photographer (Best Option)
This is the easiest and best option for a high quality senior portrait.
Most of the local Photographers have been provided with the specifications for senior photos and will format the photo you select to have featured in the yearbook. Please check with your photographer to make sure they know the specifications. ** Remember, for this option, the earlier you schedule, the better. Photographers’ schedules fill up quickly during late winter.
Option 2: Take Your Own Photo (Must follow guidelines)
If you have a friend or a family member who can take a high-quality portrait, you may use this option. Almost any cell phone can be used for a great photo. Just pick a great, well lighted, site/background and have fun being creative with your pose.
Here is what you need to know for getting that great photo:
- PHOTO: Take photo in a well lit area. The better the light, the better the photo.
- BACKGROUND: Pick a great location for the background.
- Make sure you can clearly see the students face with no distractions.

- Photo must be taken in "portrait" vertically oriented. ie. Tall not Wide
-
Digital File Format:
- Resolution: 150 - 300 DPI
- Width 2.25”
- Height 3”
- File format type JPEG , JPG or PNG
- If needed, digital files should be edited using photo software and saved at a high resolution
- NAME: Please name the photo if you can.
- SUBMISSION PROCESS: Photo must be submitted as an attachment in an EMAIL sent to Yearbook@sw.wednet.edu We will not accept a hard copy.
