Rotary Club of Whidbey Westside


The Rotary Club of Whidbey Westside is now taking applications for vocational scholarships. The scholarships are intended to provide financial assistance to students who will enroll in an accredited vocational program at a technical school or college. Examples of vocational programs include but are not limited to: automotive technology, accounting, child development, dental hygiene, fashion design, beauty school, graphic design, medical assisting, and many others. The scholarships are primarily need-based rather than grade-based. The scholarships are not intended for general academic pursuits, for students intending to transfer to four-year colleges, or for graduate degrees. There is no age limit for these scholarships; weight is given to those who intend to live and work on the island.

The Kelly Foundation of Washington

To engage exclusively in charitable and educational activities. To support various charitable organizations in the community, including, but not limited to, education institutions, hospitals, cultural activities (such as symphonies and museums), and groups for the benefit of children.

The Foundation is a grant making foundation that intends to make scholarships and grants to public charities, community organizations, educational organizations, hospitals, cultural organizations, organizations that benefit children and individuals, including minorities. The Foundation intends to continue and further develop its scholarship program.

The PB&J Scholarship

We are looking for students who have experience challenges in their life and who have the drive to succeed. 
Eligibility: Seniors planning to attend a 2 or 4 year school in the Fall of 2020
Deadline: December 16th, 2019

The Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans, Inc.

The Horatio Alger Scholarship: Through nationally recognized programs, the Association reaches out directly to our nation's young people with a message of hope, opportunity, responsibility, and perseverance. In keeping with the mission of the Horatio Alger Association, the scholarship programs provide financial assistance to students throughout the nation who have significant financial need and have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity. The scholarships are given to deserving students each year and range in award value from $10,000 to $25,000.
Eligibility criteria include: 2020 graduate from high school, demonstrated critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income), and United States citizenship.
Students may apply online August 1- October 25 at SCHOLARS.HORATIOALGER.ORG
Once you apply please inform your counselor as they must fill out a Certification Form online as well.

Epsilon Sigma Alpha Foundation Scholarships

The ESA Foundation has awarded more than $3 million in scholarships and continues to award numerous scholarships annually. You do not have to be an ESA member to apply for a scholarship, and our application process is 100% online.

Prudential Spirit of Community Awards

The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program is the United States’ largest youth recognition program based exclusively on volunteer community service.
Created in 1995 by Prudential and the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), the program honors middle level and high school students for outstanding service to others at the local, state and national level.
Thus far, it has recognized more than 130,000 young people who’ve made a difference – and inspired countless others to consider how they might contribute to their communities.
The Spirit of Community Awards program also honors youth volunteers in countries outside the U.S. where Prudential has a significant presence: Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Ireland, India, China and Brazil.

To be eligible, you must:

-be in grades 5-12 as of November 5
-be a legal resident of any U.S. state or Washington, D.C.
have engaged in a volunteer activity that occurred during the 12 months prior to the date of the application
-submit a completed application to a school or the head of an official designated local organization by November 5.

Theater Scholarship 2019-20


Hollywood Lights, Inc. is excited to announce our 2019-20 Theater Scholarship Program. We’re looking for talented high school seniors who have a passion for theater performance, design, and tech who want to pursue a career in that field.  

What are the qualifications?

 You must currently be a high school senior.
You must reside in either Oregon or Washington.
You must be on track to graduate in 2020.
You must currently be enrolled in at least one theater/drama class or attend an after-school theater program.
You must have plans to pursue theatrical related studies throughout college.

The College Board Opportunity Scholarships

The more effort you put in, the more opportunities you have to earn a scholarship. Complete all six, and you’re eligible to earn $40,000. Scholarships will be awarded through monthly drawings to students who complete each action. Click Here for More
