$5000 Video Scholarship
Applicants must submit a 3-minute video featuring either:

An interview with a local BBB Accredited Business owner on the history of their business and why they became Accredited with the Better Business Bureau.
A video to teach your family and friends how to avoid one of the Top 5 Riskiest Scams on the latest BBB Risk Report.


Ten finalists will be selected from the application pool. Only one recipient will win the #BBB5K Video Scholarship.


$2000 Essay Scholarships
Applicants will submit a 500-word essay for BBB’s online magazine Torch Talk on one of the following topics:

When researching a company or charity online, how do you make sure that you are dealing with an organization you can trust?
The latest BBB Scam Tracker Risk Report shows that consumers ages 18-24 have the highest susceptibility for falling victim to scams. Knowing this, what changes would you make to protect yourself and your friends from falling victim?


Up to five finalists from each region will be selected from the application pool. Six recipients will win a $2,000 scholarship.

Rotary Club of Whidbey Westside

SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE

The Rotary Club of Whidbey Westside is now taking applications for vocational scholarships. The scholarships are intended to provide financial assistance to students who will enroll in an accredited vocational program at a technical school or college. Examples of vocational programs include but are not limited to: automotive technology, accounting, child development, dental hygiene, fashion design, beauty school, graphic design, medical assisting, and many others. The scholarships are primarily need-based rather than grade-based. The scholarships are not intended for general academic pursuits, for students intending to transfer to four-year colleges, or for graduate degrees. There is no age limit for these scholarships; weight is given to those who intend to live and work on the island.

    Make sure your college list has a mix of academic safety, match, and reach schools. 

  5. 5. Complete the FAFSA: $1,000

    Fill out the free government form to apply for financial aid. 

  6. 6. Apply to Colleges: $1,000

    Apply to the schools you want to attend.

  7. Complete Your Journey: $40,000

    Complete all six scholarship steps to be eligible for a $40,000 scholarship.
